Chat Interface
Peak Oil Chat has an easy to use interface. It is designed to resembe standard Internet Relay Chat software.
At the top of the window is a list of tabs, each tab will represent a channel or private message session that is open. Windows can be closed by clicking on the "x" button to the far right.
A list of nicknames of everyone in the channel is shown to the right. You can double click on a nickname to open up a window for sending private messages between you and that user.
Along the bottom of the screen is a text box. This is where you type anything you want to say to the channel, and then press enter. This is also where you would enter any commands. Clicking on the arrows << at the far left of the screen will bring up a formatting toolbar that allows for changing the text colour and adding bold or an underline.
Basic IRC Commands
The following Commands begin with a forward slash /
| /me | This turns what you type after /me into an action, eg: /me says hello |
| /quit | Quits the discussion (same as clicking X). eg: /quit See-ya later! |
| /msg | Send a private message to someone. eg: /msg nickname Hello there |
| /whois | Gets some information about a user. eg: /whois nickname |
Options
There is an options window that lets you change some settings for the interface.
